What can the Morpheus8 do for your skin?

At Sage Wellness and Medspa, in Plantation, Florida we offer skin tightening treatments as well as treatments that improve fine lines and wrinkles, improve acne scars, improve collagen and elastin production and improve the appearance of cellulite. The Morpheus8 is one of those treatments that we are excited to offer our patients.

What is a Morpheus8?

Morpheus8 Face and Morpheus8 Body is a radiofrequency micro needling device that improves the appearance of the skin by stamping the skin with needles up to 8 mm deep into the skin that use radiofrequency energy to tighten the collagen fibers and stimulate the collagen in the skin. It stimulates the production of collagen and elastin.

There are two different types of treatments available with the Morpheus8. The Morpheus8 Face is the handpiece that is meant to be used on the face that tighten the skin of the face and uses 24 needles for treatments. The Morpheus8 Body is the handpiece that is used for the body. This can be used to improve the appearance of cellulite, improve the texture of the skin, and tighten the skin of different areas of the body such as the abdomen, back of the arms, thighs, etc. The price depends on the size of the area you would like treated.

How many treatments will I need?

Most patients need 3 treatments in order to see the results they are seeking. Each treatment is spaced 4 weeks apart in order to allow each treatment to take full effect before the next treatment.

How long is the recovery after your treatment?

The first day of your treatment you will have some redness and tenderness like a sunburn. You may also have some pinprick marks from the needles where they went into the skin. The redness will usually resolve within 24 hours, and you can return to work the next morning with a little bit of makeup if you would like to cover the pinprick marks or any small bruises you may have gotten from the procedure. The skin will completely heal within a week or so after your treatment. You should avoid direct sun and wear extra sun protection for two weeks after your treatment in order to prevent any hyperpigmentation or damage to the healing skin.

Are Morpheus8 treatments painful?

Yvette Gonzalez, our board-certified nurse practitioner goes above and beyond to make you as comfortable as possible during your Morpheus8 treatment. There are multiple layers of anesthesia available including numbing cream, Nox and dental blocks to make our patients comfortable during treatments.
