Promote radiant looking skin
Even out your skin’s texture and pore size, making it look smoother, softer, and younger
Collagen is one of the most plentiful proteins in your body, but it decreases with age. As a result, your skin doesn’t heal itself as well, resulting in blemishes, scars, and wrinkles.
At Sage Wellness and Medspa, our microneedling treatment gives your skin the refresh it needs! Microneedling evenly stimulates collagen–minimizing blemishes, tightening skin, and promoting a vibrant, healthy glow.
How it works...
Using a handheld device, microscopic puncture wounds are evenly distributed to the top layer of your skin. These wounds stimulate collagen, kickstart your body’s natural healing process, and improve the texture and elasticity of your skin.
Why we love it...
Nearly 90% of people who undergo microneedling say they would recommend it to friends and family. Microneedling packs a powerful punch as it minimizes blemishes, enlarged pores, and damaged surfaces while also giving your skin a healthy, vibrant glow. Treatment is safe, comfortable and pain free.
Your treatment will be charged on a per visit basis. The amount of microneedling treatments you will need is dependent on the severity of skin concerns you wish to correct. Don’t miss our online exclusive offers and packages for savings on Microneedling, Botox, and other aesthetic procedures.
Treatable Concerns
- Fine Lines & Wrinkles
Years of smiling and facial expressions leave their mark! Microneedling rejuvenates the skin, which naturally fill wrinkles, evens texture, and smooths out the skin.
- Crow's Feet
Wrinkles at outer corners of eyes. Microneedling spurs collagen and elastin which shore up the skin around the eyes and make wrinkles disappear.
- Enlarged Pores
Pores are paths in your skin's surface where oil and sweat exit your skin. Pores can enlarge as your skin ages and loses elasticity. Microneedling tightens the skin, creating the appearance of smaller pores and providing needed structure.
- Acne Scars
No one wants reminders of past acne woes. Microneedling produces collagen, which acts as a filler to smooth out the skin around the scar and improves the overall look!
- Skin Elasticity
Sagging can happen in your arms, chest, decollete, stomach, knees, under the buttocks, feet, or thighs. Wherever sagging is occurring, microneedling can tighten, strengthen, and refresh your skin.
Pre & Post
Treatment Tips
- If you wear makeup to your appointment, we'll need to remove it before your treatment in order to get a clean canvas.
- Avoid Retinol, active ingredients, and at-home peels for at least 7 days prior to your treatment.
- Avoid Botox or filler treatments, or resurfacing treatments for at least 2 weeks prior.
- If you've been sunburned recently, it's best to wait 3 weeks to a month before this treatment.
- Have a big event coming up? We do not recommend receiving this treatment a few days before, since you may experience some redness and flaking.
- Avoid products and sun exposure for the first couple of days after your treatment. Integrate sun care into your routine to maintain results.
- You’ll likely experience noticeable redness, and possibly swelling, afterwards. A cool compress or cooling masque will alleviate the swelling quicker.
- Avoid working out (anything where you break a sweat) for 1-2 days post-treatment.
Frequently Asked Questions
What Can I Expect at My Treatment?
First, a topical anesthetic is applied across your skin, ensuring the treatment is comfortable and pain-free. Then, an FDA-cleared medical device makes tiny punctures in your skin. The wounds prompt your body’s healing process, producing collagen and elastin. These proteins work overtime to heal, volumize, and improve your skin quality.
Redness and swelling are normal and should subside in a few days, leaving skin that feels silky and appears much younger. Even so, you may need to commit to several treatments to achieve optimal results.
Is Treatment Safe?
Microneedling is considered a very safe procedure. Unlike other treatments that introduce chemicals and outside elements to your skin, microneedling simply activates the healing process found naturally in your skin. The natural process leads to natural-looking results!
Normal Side effects may include:
- Mild bruising
- Redness
- Swelling
- Itching
- Peeling
- While unlikely, there are risks of skin infection
Microneedling is not suggested for people with clotting or bleeding disorders, or who take blood thinners.
When Will I See Results?
You’ll see brighter skin right away, after treatment as the redness fades. In the following weeks, you’ll see more noticeable results. Full results should be apparent around 3 months.
It may take several treatments, spaced about a month apart, to enjoy maximum results. From there, we suggest a once-a-year service to maintain your results!
Can I Go Back To Work After My Treatment?
You may want to schedule your appointment before a weekend or take some time off. While you technically could, there may be noticeable redness, swelling or bumps that will go away in a few short days.
What Should I Avoid After Treatment?
Apart from the topical antibiotic cream we give you, limit touching or avoid putting anything on your face for the first few days. For best results, skip makeup for 1-2 days. Avoid sun exposure, minimize sweating, and avoid exfoliating and your normal skincare regimen. Stay hydrated and wait to enjoy your full results!
